If you’re like me, you grew up thinking Peter Gabriel wrote about three or four songs. There was “Sledgehammer” of course. A marvel of claymation to my ten year old eyes. Then there was “Big Time,” which seemed more of the same. And then as I got older and got more in touch with my sensitive side, there was John Cusack’s radio playing “In Your Eyes.”
I discovered Peter Grabriel’s Us about two years ago. I bought it used for about four bucks. That’s when I heard “Washing of the Water.”
Mesmerizing.
